Desde ni\u00f1a mostr\u00f3 una voluntad firme, un coraz\u00f3n sensible y una gran empat\u00eda por los dem\u00e1s. El 8 de julio de 1875, el d\u00eda de su confirmaci\u00f3n, sinti\u00f3 el llamado a la vida religiosa.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"346\" data-end=\"633\">A los 25 a\u00f1os, el 21 de noviembre de 1888, ingres\u00f3 en la Congregaci\u00f3n de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Caridad del Buen Pastor y tom\u00f3 el nombre de Mar\u00eda del Divino Coraz\u00f3n. En 1891, comenz\u00f3 su labor con ni\u00f1as en M\u00fcnster, asegurando que los m\u00e1s necesitados y abandonados eran su mayor prioridad.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1136\">En 1894, fue enviada a Portugal como superiora del convento de Oporto, donde extendi\u00f3 su apostolado a personas de todas las condiciones. Aunque era una religiosa activa y alegre, viv\u00eda en profunda uni\u00f3n m\u00edstica con Dios. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os de su vida, experiment\u00f3 una revelaci\u00f3n en la que Cristo le pidi\u00f3 la consagraci\u00f3n del universo a su Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n. Con determinaci\u00f3n, llev\u00f3 este mensaje al Papa Le\u00f3n XIII, quien investig\u00f3 el pedido y, en su enc\u00edclica <em data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1108\">Annum Sacrum<\/em>, anunci\u00f3 la consagraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1519\">Su salud, siempre fr\u00e1gil, se deterior\u00f3 gravemente hasta dejarla inm\u00f3vil por meses. Convencida de que su misi\u00f3n se completar\u00eda con la consagraci\u00f3n, falleci\u00f3 el 8 de junio de 1899, un d\u00eda antes de la Fiesta del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n.
